Check out the video I created with the AverVision 300 CP. Although my delivery of the math lesson isn't so great, I think we can all see the potential.

A PDF copy of the Google Docs flyer is available at: http://www.slocue.org/googledocs.pdf Please feel free to print out the flyer and share with those who may be interested in attending.

This Google Certified Presentation will cover the basics of using the following Web-based productivity applications:

These powerful tools are absolutely free and – unlike software-based programs (e.g. M.S. Office, Open Office, etc.) – can be accessed from any computer that has an Internet connection. These tools also enable users to collaborate and easily share documents.

Please feel free to contact SLOCUE for more information at slocue@slocue.org.

What Are We Really Testing?

I just returned from the Google Teacher Academy where one of the presenters shared how to display API scores by area using Google Maps. She displayed a map with color-coded symbols representing API scores of each school in the area. Having lived in San Jose for five years, I am acutely aware of the distinct geographical borders that divide people by income. Those divisions were reflected perfectly in the API map displayed by the presenter. I later brought up the API map for the Central Coast. Both maps are below. Click on the map for a larger view.
